Pollution control: Pollution control equipments are an integral part of the production units. They are maintained like any other equipments of production units. An amount of about Rs. 5 crores is invested every year in the operation and maintenance of such equipments. And the performance is audited by internal and external auditors, as required by the prestigious QS - 9000 certification.Water pollution control: Direct cooling water is treated in Effluent Treatment Plant. The treated water is re-circulated in the system. The sludge from the ETP is used for land filling in the plant. The Cooling Tower Blowdown Water is utilized for water spraying on the roads for control of fugitive emission and gardening purpose.Air Pollution Control The major equipments of Air Pollution Control system are Dust settling Chamber, Waste Heat Recovery Boiler, Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP), Dense Phase Conveying System, Multicone Cyclone, Filter Bag House, Wet Scrubber, FD Cooler and ID Fan. Modifications are carried out continuously for improved performance. In the fiscal year 2000 - 2001, an amount of Rs. 18 Lakhs were spent. To prevent pollution from Fly Ash generated from the Power plant, a brick plant was put up a cost of Rs. 20 Lakhs with a capacity to produce 10,000 bricks per shift. The bricks find use in civil construction.Within the premises of the factory massive tree plantation is carried out, which helps keep the environment of the surrounding villages clean. Celebrate 5th of June every year as World Environment Day with much fanfare, with an aim to spread the message of clean environment.
